Privacy Policy

Upkeep ("Upkeep," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use findupkeep.com or submit a request, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies.
About Upkeep
Upkeep is a Calgary-based referral service. We connect property owners, managers, and condo boards with vetted, insured commercial cleaning and grounds and snow contractors across Alberta. We are not a contractor and do not perform cleaning or grounds work ourselves.

Personal information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you submit a request through our website, which may include your name, company or building name, email address, phone number, city, property type and size, the service you are looking for, your role, and your timeline or situation. If you contact us by email, we collect the information in your message.
When you visit findupkeep.com, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the website.
Why we collect it, and your consent
We collect your information for a single primary purpose: to understand your request and match you with, and pass your request to, one or more vetted contractors who can quote your work. We also use it to respond to you, to operate and improve our service, and to meet legal requirements.
When you submit our form and check the consent box, you give us your express consent to contact you about your request, and to share your details with the matched contractor(s) for that request. You may withdraw your consent at any time, as described under "Your rights" below. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to provide the service.
Who we share your information with
We share your request only with the specific vetted contractor(s) matched to your service and area. If you select "Both" for cleaning and grounds, your request may be shared with a separate specialist for each service, because these are usually handled by different companies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with contractors outside the match for your request. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Service providers and where your information is processed
We keep Upkeep's operations in-house wherever we can. We host our website and store your request on our own server, and we use an email provider to send and receive messages on our behalf. Any provider we use is only permitted to process personal information to provide its service to us.
Some of our providers, such as our email provider, may be located outside Alberta and Canada, which means your personal information may be stored or processed outside the province or country and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
Cookies and analytics
Our website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services. We understand aggregate traffic from our own web server's logs, which record standard technical details such as the pages requested and the browser type. We do not use your form information to serve advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
How long we keep it, and how we protect it
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it to provide the service, maintain our records, and meet legal obligations, after which we securely delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information at all times.
Your rights
Under PIPA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and to access it;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, and ask us to stop using and delete your information, subject to legal or contractual limits; and
- ask questions about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@findupkeep.com. We will respond within the timelines PIPA requires. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Anti-spam (CASL)
We contact you because you submitted a request and gave consent. Any commercial electronic message we send identifies who we are and includes a working way to unsubscribe. We do not send you unrelated marketing, and we do not add you to third-party mailing lists.
Concerns and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (OIPC) at oipc.ab.ca or 1-888-878-4044.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the current version, and we will post any material changes on this page.
